Weeeeird mood, yo.

Before we begin, I have a legitimate question. When you're a nineteen-year-old college student, are you too old to look longingly at the Build-A-Bear website? I don't remember what took me there in the first place, but then I found this coyote, and I can't... look... away. It's weird, too, because I generally consider myself immune to cuteness. Kittens and puppies don't affect me much. I only ever cared about a handful of toys when I was little. But this coyote; oh my goodness! It's a COYOTE!

Yeah. I apologize. When you sign on for thirty consecutive days of Hayley, you're bound to be exposed to my annoying side. I promise to never talk about stuffed animals again. From here on out, I'll only talk about mature topics, like current events and foreign affairs and the stock market and porn.

Anyway, hello! How was your day? Mine was rather uneventful, unfortunately. I went to my first class wearing the clothes I'd slept in. I ate some veggie soup so awesome that I barely mind the fact that my mouth is still burnt. I sat out in the sun and accomplished a whole slew of menial tasks. Oh, and some of my friends gathered around to watch one of my all-time favorite movies: a made-for-Lifetime "masterpiece" about fourteen-year-olds with Syphilis, called She's Too Young. The movie, which includes such memorable quotes as, "I HAVE SYPHILIS, OKAY, MOM!?" sets many a dramatic scene inside ridiculously exaggerated high school parties. "Look!" I said to my friends. "Naked people! Stereos! Booooze!"

"And joints! And coke!" shouted Erin. "And a lava lamp!"

Other than that, today pretty much served to further confirmed that I am lame. I need a little adventure in my life. I don't have class tomorrow, so I plan to get a little wild. Maybe I'll sleep till ten. Maybe I'll take a thirty-minute shower. Maybe-- now, prepare yourselves for this one-- MAYBE I will wear MASCARA. Who knows? I've been known to really spice it up from time to time.

Mkay. I'm sorry for my unfunny hyperactivity. Hopefully, I'll be a somewhat normal person tomorrow, for the final installment of BEDA: 2010. Check out today's fiveawesomegirls video, if you want, and I'll see you lovely people tomorrow!

The week before I left for college, I went shopping with my parents alone, which is a treat in my family of five kids. I convinced them to let me get a Build-a-Bear. The catch was that they told the person helping me that they had to treat me like a 6 year old. It was totally worth it! It helped relieve some of the stress I was feeling right before college and I have an awesome memory of time with my parents. So I say go for the coyote, but see if you can go to the store and return for childhood for a little while! Maybe you could blow off a little bit a pre-exam steam.

Yeah, so I am 20 and I have a build-a-bear. My day was awesome because all my classes were cancelled for today and I slept in till 10 30. Cannot wait to hear what "wild" thing you are going to do tomorrow.

Hayley, if your still taking questions i have a few for you:

How long have you been a Vegetarian and why did you start?

How come you don't mention it often in your blog or your channel?

I'm just curious because I'm a vegetarian too :)

That coyote is seriously cute, so don't worry about gushing over it. It's only natural to do so. XD

And I can't believe BEDA is almost over. This month went fast.

Build-a-Bears are great, that coyote is adorable. And all the cool sounds that come with it! You could have a coyote that sings the iCarly theme song. Now that is awesome.
Lifetime has the best movies. We watched She's Too Young in health class. Also the one where Fred Savage kills Candace Cameron and throws her in the lake. Classic.

One more day and then no more Daily Hayley. What will I do with my life? :(

They have coyotes at Build-A-Bear? Somehow that is much more adorable than an actual bear.

And Hayley, I am going to ask you this in the hopes that you may one day answer it. How does one go about...(I'm trying to find a way to say this without sounding creepy and girly)...um..."pursuing a relationship" with a Nerdfighting boy? Not in a, like, "Hey-I-wanna-be-your-girlfriend-let's-kiss" way, but in a "Hey-I-kinda-have-a-crush-on-you-but-I-want-to-hang-out-more-first" way.
Because, you know, you are the go-to expert on love advice.

P.S: I know this makes no sense.

we watched that movie in my Health class. I have very fond memories of making fun of it...

And, I looove build a bear. So. I approve of your obsession with the coyote

a) You're NEVER too old for Build-a-Bear. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. xD

b) I have to take this time to be a grammar police because it's a very rare thing to be able to do in this blog (don't worry, I love that <3).
"Other than that, today pretty much served to further confirmed that I am lame."
To confirmed? I'll let that one go as a typo. But to further confirmed? You have committed the Star-Trek-ian sin of a split infinitive, my friend. But it's ok - I forgive you. ;)

So I just started watching "She's Too Young." It's 1:15am and I have school tomorrow but I'm excited, haha.
By the way, would BEDM be possibility? Hmm? I know it doesn't exactly have the same "ring" to it but we can make it work, right?
Haha.
April's been awesome and I love reading your blog every day! I'll seriously miss it.

OMG MORE PEOPLE THAT JUST ME LIKE THAT MOVIE! It's amazingly how bad it is yet it's still so good, just like a lifetime movie should be. And that coyote is adorable and now you have me on that website (I sorta wanna get John Green that unicorn...if I were seeing him on tour, I might have.)

Have a fabulous day, Hayley. Can't wait to hear all about your wild adventures tomorrow =)

EMMA FROM DEGRASSI! WHAAAAAAAAAT?
Also, I recognized that girl from The Secret Life of the Pregnant Teenager or whatever that show's called.
But EMMA?
Man, this is one star-studded cast.

To answer your question with a question: When you're a 21-year-old college student, are you too old to sleep with a Build-A-Bear teddy that was given to you by your best friend senior year of high school? Are you too old to have a stash of Disney/Care Bear/Batman/Veggie Tales coloring books and crayons on your desk in your dorm room? Are you too told to hang products of previously mentioned items on your bulletin board and walls? Please say no.

Also, THAT COYOTE IS ADORABLE. I can't stop looking at the website now, thanks. I must have the Fennec Fox.

And shut your mouth about being unfunny. You made me chuckle several times during this entry. *GASP* Mascara?!?! Oh Hayley. You party animal, you.

C'mon Hayley, I'm 21 and I got a build-a-bear last summer when I was in Chicago. Now you make ME feel like I shouldn't be allowed to have a build-a-bear. lol.

Also, I just want to say how much I've been enjoying you blogging every day. I haven't been able to comment a lot but I'm definitely reading everything and I'm loving it! :D

There is NOTHING wrong with succumbing to the cuteness that is Build-a-Bear. :)

My day was pretty awesome. We need to perform a skit in English of a scene in Romeo and Juliet and my groups' is pretty nerdily epic. We're doing the Mercrutio-Tybalt fight scene Harry Potter style. Discussing it in English was hilarious. :) In case you wanted to know. Felt like sharing. :D

Speaking as someone who is a Master Bear Builder at her local Build-a-Bear Workshop, I say that it's never too late to enjoy simple, maybe childish things that make us happy. I mean, I'm sure there are plenty of people in the world who would say that you and I are too old for "Harry Potter". But luckily for us, we know better.

It's completely acceptable to still want a build-a-bear. My friend gave me a build-a-bear gift card just last year for Christmas.

And how can you not fall prey to the cuteness of kittens? You're odd.

In my freshmen health class, our teacher made us watch She's Too Young.

It was quite the event.

I'm an eighteen year old college student and a stuffed animal fiend. Also, I bought a terrifying porcelain cat from Goodwill last week and named it Helene. I have no self-control. I like creepy animal totems.

My best friend, Celia, and I have a longstanding plan to make each other Build-A-Bears this summer to take to college. You are not lame at all.

Like Meg, before I went to college, my mom took me to Build-a-Bear to make my own! I now have a cheetah sitting on my dorm bed. My sister's going to college in the fall, so over the summer, she gets to make one, too! Usually, Cheetah (she has a name, but I never use it) sits on the end of my bed, not serving much of a purpose, but sometimes when I'm really sad, she is very huggable.

my bff and i watched She's Too Young when we were sophomores in high school. it's a beautiful film.

Soooo I just finished the movie. As a 14 year old, I feel that I could really relate to the adversity these young girls faced. The story lines were completely believable and the characters were so realistic.
But seriously, I love the kind of movie you can laugh at. I laughed a lot...
Haha, I loved it. It should be mandatory to have to watch it in sex ed.
My sex ed teacher is probably the creepiest person I've ever met, though. He's also my PE teacher. One day he started rapping Ice Ice Baby. I told him to stop because he was ruining it. Anyway, whenever he says vagina I actually cringe. Bleghhhhhh.
Sorry for rambling, it's 3am and I can't sleep, which is super fun.
'Night!

Hayley, you're so lucky to have John Green defending your honor by being your "creepy uncle" as he said on blogtv yesterday.

On the cutesy stuffed animal front, I have two things to share with you. One, you need to buy this calendar: http://www.breakingbadnewswithbabyanimals.com/ecards/test.html

and two, these furreal friends videos are far beyond John-Green-as-your-uncle creepy levels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBy0B4OPHI4

Haha. I love She's Too Young. It's right up there with Poison Ivy on movies I must force my friends to watch so that they understand my inside jokes with myself ...

With the whole coyote thing, you sound like my dad. He`s named many a computer in our house after coyotes... though he always spells it wrong (kyote, yep). Thus, it has always made me think about spelling the world before I actually do, because I usually spell it wrong.

We watched that movie in health class two years ago! Most hilarious thing I've ever seen. And I love Build-a-Bear. I'm not immune to cuteness. At all.

What they have coyotes at Build-A-Bear?? When I went they only had bears and other junk. Go for it!

Ever since I went on vacation three weeks ago, I haven't been online much. Now I'm back, I just read the last three weeks of your blog and I sill think you're awesome. I agree that we're all part of a community with similar interests.

Also, I started a blog of my own. Thanks for the inspiration.

Is it sad that I've watched that movie two or three times? In my defense, the last two times were TOTALLY by accident... I was really into Lifetime during freshman year. My friend and I would talk about it constantly!

janitorbud said...

Hahaha I'm only 18, but a college freshman and I've bugged my friends to make a bear with me all year. My friend and I finally did. It's an adorable dog namd Pistol with a sweater-vest and a guitar cause we love I Love You, Man references.

The VERY first time I went to Build-A-Bear was on my 19th birthday. I got a coupon in the mail for a free bear, and there was NO WAY I was going to pass that up!

Kai said...

you are NEVER too old for build-a-bear. NEVER!

Unknown said...

You're not too old for Build-A-Bear. College is when you willfully reject high school "maturity" and embrace childishness before you have to deal with real responsibility for the rest of your life. Have fun!

meekakitty went to build-a-bear recently. she made a jedi rabbit. it's legit.
