Best Friend!

Tonight's source of overflowing happiness is brought to you all the way from Portland, Oregon, and it comes in the form of Jess. Those of you who've followed this blog from the beginning are well acquainted with my best friend-- you watched as we spent every waking moment together in high school, you've heard stories of us as kindergartners, middle schoolers, graduates, and you witnessed my melancholy when she made the smart decision to get on a plane and start her adult life on the west coast. Since she left (the day before my 20th birthday), we'd seen each other just twice... well, surprise! This afternoon, I received a call from her home phone number. My Jess is home!

We spent a few hours walking around, catching up, soaking each other up. She has to leave again tomorrow morning for family vacation, but I can't even express how valuable today was. Some people have the magical ability to leave a trail of joy behind them everywhere they go. My best friend puts them to shame.

I'm going to bed on a good note tonight, blog. I hope you all have a lovely day!

Long time reader but first time commenting. Jess is so adorable! I was lucky enough to have gone to college with her for a year. She is so special in her ability to bring happiness to all those she encounters! :)

You're very lucky you have such a strong friendship with Jess. I don't have anyone like that, and I definitely think you deserve such a friend.

Ahh, this just is so adorable. My best friend moved to California a little over a month ago, and I'm learning to cope. I've only known her for 2 years, but she's definitely my equivalent to Jess. I hope I can see her soon :\

(I hope this sounds as sincere as I mean it to be)

When I got your best friend tweet, my first thought was, "Oh, yay! Jess is back in town!" and my heart was full of happiness for you because best friends are a wonderful commodity.

Awww that's awesome! To me, one of the best things in the world is reconnecting with a long distance friend. :)

Ah! It actually made me grin when I saw the name Jess. I'm so happy for you. I've missed her as a character in your blogs. xD

Today I had two vanilla ice caps. Not good for my body.
BUT I DIDN'T BUY A TIMBIT (Tim Horton's version of a doughnut hole) EVEN THOUGH IT WAS LIKE 15 CENTS. Cause I knew that was pointless sugar and fat intake. xD

To my friends, I'm the Jess, because I moved right in the middle of our 8th grade year, and because of this, I understand how happy Jess must feel to see "her Hayley" in return :)I'm glad you two could spend some time together! Childhood friends are always the best.

I admire your friendship with Jess. It's all too rare for friendships to survive the hardships of middle school. And then high school. And then more.

Hayley! This made me feel so happy! Ah, I can almost feel your joy all the way over here in Denmark...
How do you even write so well? It's fantastic.

Well, I've finally done it. I caught up to the present in your blog having started from somewhere in the middle of 2009 a couple weeks ago. :P I really liked reading from that time period because your silly adventures in your first and second years of college reminded me of how many similarly silly adventures I've had in mine. You're fun. :)

Aw, that's so great! My best friend only goes to school two hours away, though is about to spend the rest of the year in a different country anyway, but as much as we are the exact same person, we're super different and she'd never be willing to spend every moment with me just hanging out and doing nothing. I know you must already know you're so lucky to have someone like Jess; I really wish I did.

It's great you got to see your best friend. My good friend is leaving for Spain next year and I know I will be ecstatic when I see her next! Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

Should you be particularly stressed about interviewing for a particular task, it is okay to train initial. Compose a list of concerns you would want to request and commit to memory them well before your meet with. Question a friend or family member to mimic an actual talk to with you to help you become more cozy if it really occurs. Unu44yysed
