Fastronaut

Good afternoon, Blog! I know I haven't popped over here in almost a month, but I have a really good excuse this time. I've been hesitating to tell you about it, but I guess it's time I let you in on the truth. I'm a secret astronaut. I've been in orbit since December, and there's really crappy wifi over Australia. Not to mention, the whole anti-gravity thing makes typing difficult, and I don't know if you've ever had spacesickness, but it isn't pretty. Anyway, if anyone asks why I've been absent from my blog for so long, just come up with some ridiculous alibi, like, "She has a lot of homework" or "She didn't feel like it." Thanks, guys. I'm so grateful that I can always count on you to keep my secrets. *

A handful of important things have happened since we last spoke: fiveawesomegirls ended after a fun and emotional three-year run, I've made a couple of hayleyghoover videos (and am in the process of making another as we speak), more than a year has passed since I got together with The Situation, I did some laundry, and Miley wanted to go to college with Lily but she didn't get in so then she told the world she was Hannah Montana and she got in but then Miley got an offer for a movie so she went to Paris but then Lily hated her so Miley invited Lily to go with her to Paris but then Lily decided to go to college so Miley went to Paris without her but then Miley missed Lily so she went to college. So needless to say, my life has been exciting.

Oh, here's a fun story! I was running around the track last night, and I kept passing these two girls who were walking along the side, chatting. Now I'm not sure why they deduced that, just because I was zipping past them, I was totally deaf to their conversation... but I'm glad they assumed so, because I heard the greatest little tidbit.

Blonde Girl: That chick in the pink shorts is fast as [expletive]!
Brunette Girl: Dude, that's the youtube girl.
Blonde Girl: OH YEAH. She, like, makes money from youtube, right?
Brunette Girl: Yeah, how can youtube be a job?
Blonde Girl: I dunno, I guess you're a "youtuber."

Then they laughed because they thought they'd invented the word "youtuber" and then I laughed because my life is awesome.

The best part of it all, though, was the very first sentence. FAST? Someone called me fast and they weren't joking! This is high praise, considering most of the feedback I received in high school cross-country (when I finished every race at the far tail end of my team, usually whilst red in the face and/or swearing) was along the lines of, Nice try, Hayls! You haven't passed out yet! We're proud of you for not crying, sweetheart!

So with all that considered, I'm doing pretty well. A stranger thinks I'm a good runner, the Presence community continues to grow, I'm not failing any of the my classes yet, and I got ten hours of sleep last night. I hope you're all having a nice week! Keep being badass, and I'll see you soon.

Congratulations on being fast! I think hearing someone say that would make my week :)

Awesome, will we see you at the Olympics in 2012? A family friend of mine, when she was ten years old, out ran another friend who was a six foot four beanpole, while wearing snow boots!

I get emotional when thinking about Jessica and Marcus being one year away. Next year it's two. Time is too fast.

So disappointed you didn't call this blog post "Fastronaut" I can't even.

PORTMANTEAUS ARE MY LIFEBLOOD, HOOVER.

Also, we haven't caught up in a million years and that is sad.

"Keep being badass." I'll try. It's what I'm good at- lol

A nice week? Oh yes. I only had to go to school for about 7 hours total this week, so I get to sleep and do whatever until next Tuesday, when I start all of my new classes: Latin, Band, Civics, and AP Chemistry. My first AP class.

I love the conversation you overheard. Some people are so oblivious to eavesdroppers.
My school had "Pirate vs. Ninja Day" as part of spirit week, and I was a ninja (of course). As I was walking to class, someone said to their friend, "Wow, that's the coolest ninja I've seen all day!" It was a great compliment, but she referred to me as both a THAT and a deaf person. Nothing against deaf people.

Ahaha I love the title change. :P

Your cross-country team sounds very different than mine... we all got together to cheer on the last few people finishing. :)
Does running on a track bore you though? Personally, I find it a lot less interesting...
DFTBA!

It's always awesome reading one of your blog posts, Hayley.
And don't worry, I used to be horrible at running. Actually, I still am.
That must be strange being known as "The Youtuber", knowing that some random people at your school could be watching your videos.

"there's really crappy wifi over Australia" ...I swear Hayley, if you were in my country and I missed it, I'm going to be more angsty than Harry in OotP. Although, congratulations on being called fast.

Hey Hayley, I was wondering about the running thing: when did you start, how? How did it go?
I'm thinking of doing the running thing and it terrifies me as I've always been exceptionally bad at running... Whenever I see them on the streets I'm like WOW, but running myself.. I don't see it. I tried it a couple of times, and what is the goal? Why?
Let me explain: I want to run but on the other hand, whenever I tried I just missed the point. You know, when you play football (soccer) there's that ball you need to get... With running it's just running and no ball to catch... I find it hard to keep running while there's nothing to be catched, although on the other hand the runners I see always look so happy and accomplished somehow. I want to be that person.

Hmmm.. maybe I should post this on Presence?
Okay I'll double post :)

Congratulations on being so fast. I hope one day I can be a person that Runs. It's like being in a secret club :)

It's great to hear from you (blog-wise), Hayley!

Haha, I've always been a terribly slow runner. I like to blame it on my asthma, but really I'm just lazy and not very active in general.

I hope everything is going well!

I first picked up the Darling series because of you!

I like (not the kind on Facebook) the word FASTRONAUT. Sounds so cool. Why are you so clever??

Good luck this semester!

Yay! I love that you love running! I'm a cross-country runner myself, but I seem to be getting slower as time goes by...
It was pretty cool to be in a livestream chat with you the other day :D It's almost as if I had the chance to "meet" you, but not really. errm. Yep. That sounded creepy.
ANYWAY! Sad as always about the end of 5AG, love the new Hayley G Hoover videos & best wishes!

Yay I missed reading this!!
I love when you get the chance to hear conversations like that. People say such funny things sometimes. I often hear people mentioning me in class. "She doesn't ever talk" is a popular phrase.
*Sigh* I can deal. :)
Anyway, nice to see you blogging again! :D

Good eavesdropping! If someone said that to me I'd be super excited. "How can YouTube be a job?"

And you were hypothetically over Australia and you didn't drop in?! Shame, Hayley.

Nooooooo!!
I was going to watch the end of HM later since it's not on the internet yet!!
Spoilers :((

Okay, that sounds ridiculous since I'm 18 but HM is my guilty pleasure okay? I have exams for a month now so I need something very brainless to watch. Please don't judge me!

The running thing is really awesome! They knew you and complimented you without you hearing it, so you're really sure they weren't just being nice because you're like sort of famous. That's awesome.

Do people really recognize you off youtube all the time on college? Like a celebrity? O.o Okay that's just weird to me. I know you have a ton of followers...but you seem so NORMAL to me. I would have thought things like that would have inflated your ego or something. I'm glad it hasn't. Thanks for being so real and level headed with us <3

I'm glad your life is good right now, at any rate. :)

I am on my high school track team right now and I finish last almost every race. So its awesome to hear that someone can eventually be known as fast and not "oh my gosh you run an 8 minute mile, YOU'RE SO SLOW!"

Kat said...

Ten hours of sleep. What? How? I think the astronaut thing is more believable. (Slash I am SO JEALOUS omg)

allyson said...

You should join the cross country team and show all your high school sucka classmates WHO'S BOSS.

Or... just write about it. This is what I would do. :]

No chipotle burritos yet? Are you just getting them somewhere else now?

Haha, you should have stopped and made awkward conversation with those girls. xD

Oh oh oh and I just finished reading Sloppy Firsts. It was pretty awesome. Heading to the library to get the next four books now. :)
I can really see why you like the series. I dunno, I just picture you reading it as I'm reading it. If that makes sense.

Blog moar, astronaut. =]

Hayley! I am happy that you're happy! Also, I'm wondering who made that awesome banner at the top of your blog...

As soon as a read this, I went to my library and checked out the whole Jessica Darling series. I finished Sloppy Firsts in about 6 hours. Wow. What a great book! Thank you so much for introducing me to them! Jessica Darling is probably the funniest character EVER. I almost died laughing about 100 times. ;D

Nice! I was going to watch the Hannah Montana finale purely out of nagging curiosity, but the quarter started and I don't have cable in my apartment. Thanks for the summary! I guess I didn't miss too much. I'll get to it come spring break. :)

Ever since you blogged about weight loss many months ago, I started to make some lifestyle changes. Back in elementary school and early middle school, I was considered fast--granted, I was a sprinter. Then, the pounds piled on. Since fall quarter of this year--last year?, I started running regularly again. I am nowhere near being called "fast," but I am proud to say that I can run 5+ miles without stopping or feeling like I'm dying. So, congratulations for being called fast and thank you for that post, Hayley!

Hayley, despite fact that I am fantastically jealous of how well your life seems to be going, I need to acknowledge that this post, although not particularly special, just cheered me up a bit on what was a fantastically bad day for me, just because you're you and I love the voice you have in your blog posts. Thank you. <3

Ask yourself questions regarding every single inventory in your portfolio after the year. Look at every retaining and decide if it clients are a stock you might buy when you failed to keep it currently, given everything you know now regarding the company and sector. Should your answer is no, then that may be probably a great signal you should dump the supply you have already. Why very own what you would not get? Moun66tai
