I have a crush on this substitute Geology teacher. He's a grad student, early twenties. Dark hair, scraggly beard, square glasses. Moves his hands a lot when he talks about plate tectonics. He sometimes fills in for our regular professor because she tends to go to Greece quite frequently to look at rocks. I like his teaching style and his cardigan. He's wearing a dark purple t-shirt with some kind of design on it in red-- it might be bullhorns, but frankly, I'm far away enough that it could easily be ovaries. I wouldn't mind either way because it's not like I'm single or going to talk to him. Just a musing.
Meanwhile, a guy behind me just laughed at the word "lubrication."
I don't really have much to say right now, but I thought I'd check in. I just posted a new video to officially announce that I'll be attending Playlist Live in Orlando, Florida at the end of March. Will any of you be there? I hope we get to talk. Maybe I'll bring my plastic recorder and take requests!*
In other news, I went to a Ben Folds concert last week with my friend Hannah and had a phenomenal time. I got to talk to him and some of the band/crew after the show, making me feel like a bit of a badass, if we're being honest. Oh, and speaking of badass, I watched the documentary Catfish last night and about fainted. Highly recommended.
Anyway, I hope you're all having a lovely week. Since this post was boring, here. Have a funny video with hot guys in it. Go watch it and eat something and be merry. Until next time!

I needed this today. Your advice to eat something and be merry nearly made me cry because I've been very close to relapsing with my bulimia/depression that always plagues me in winter months. So far this year I've been strong. Thanks for helping with that.

I must go one day. Also, what is Catfish about?
I'll be at Playlist Live! I'm SO excited for it!!
Hey, there hasn't been a Presense post in a long while. Why? I love the advice from a reasonale real-life girl, like myself, and I miss it. Just wondering why a few Sunday's have missed a post. :)
Shit, *I* laughed at the word "lubrication" when I read it.
1 Chipotle Burrito in 2011 thus far?
Hayley, I'm surprised.
You are now ahead of me on the Chipotle count! But, I haven't been craving one until I read this entry. I may treat myself to one after a run this weekend. The Lunar New Year begins tomorrow and what better way to celebrate it than with devilishly delicious Mexican food. My immigrant parents will be thrilled.
I'm thinking of taking an atmospheric science class on severe weather next quarter. I hear the professor is hot and married to a badass rockstar.
Can i request 3 blind mice?
I had the exact thing hhappen with my Government TA. He wore button-up shirts with ties, but he rolled the sleeves up. I miss that class so much.
I would LOVE to go Playlist Live, but alas, I can't. For two reasons.
1) My parents can only mentally/emotionally handle bringing me to one awesome thing every two months or so. And I'm seeing The Situation and Driftless Pony Club in Philly, so...
2) It is the weekend right in the middle of standardized testing. THREE WEEKS OF STANDARDIZED TESTING. Gahhhh.
I don't know what it is about geology grad students but I had a crush on pretty much every one I took a class from. I think it's the scruffy, outdoorsy, rugged nerdiness that I found delicious.
Not to mention the fact that we could converse about DINOSAURS! *love*
I heard that the less that you know about Catfish going in the better experience you'll have with the movie. I'm not entirely interested, though.
Thank you so much for telling me to eat something, I love an excuse to eat.
I actually changed my major to Geography for one semester, because I was convinced I was in love with the subject. However, over summer break I realized I was just in love with my scraggly bearded geography teacher and his Celtic necklace.
as a single grad student, I am interested in this theory on geography grad students attractiveness. (is that a word?) Hmm... I'll have to look into that :)
So, no spoilers...but do you think "Catfish" is real or fake? I lean to the fake team, but it was still interesting and entertaining.
Speaking as a geology major, I think geology is awesome and I'm thrilled to hear you're learning a bit about it. :) Even if only because your TA is cute... ;)
I want pictures of this attractive substitute. C'mon, Hayley, share with us. Stinginess is not a becoming trait.
*sigh* Teacher crushes. The best kind. =D
Hi, I just wanted to say that I really think you're awesome. I read your blog all the time (I don't follow it for that long, so I'm reading all the old posts too) and of course, I watch your videos as well.
your "eat something" reminds me of Elizabeth Clarry who tells Christina to "eat something delicious!" and i've been waiting fto be told that IRL even since i first read it.
I love teacher/authority figure crushes. You know you've got one and it ain't goin' anywhere, but it sure makes things interesting!

When pallets sit on top of each other the chance of movement due to the weight compression is greatly increased. Any such movement could lead to a container falling damaging both its contents and anyone passing by at the time. As mentioned earlier, a forklift operator does not need any educational qualifications, but he should know how to read and write. However, some employers might ask for a high school degree. A driver's license, good physical stamina and a training certificate in driving/operating forklifts are a must though. Some employers may require a forklift operator to be well-versed in computer usage. But, the basic requirement is the ability to undertake physical tasks, such as, lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, gripping, etc. Generally, employers look for candidates who can manually lift weight of more than 30 pounds. As most of the work requires the person to stand, he should have the ability to be on his feet for about eight hours in a day. 1260.897
