Lauren wastes an entire day.

I’m back!

This is just too much fun to do once, so I’m doin’ it again!

This week I’ve pretty much sold myself to my mother. She works all the time and likes to have lots of parties for her jewelry business which means she has no time. Yesterday to help out, I told her that I would make some of the food for her party. So for five hours yesterday I slaved in the kitchen making some delicious food. I just don’t understand why almost all of it had to made of cream cheese. I like the stuff on a normal day, but when it’s the only thing you ate that day, it can get disgusting. My mom calls these things pinwheels and it’s cream cheese, yellow and red peppers, and onion wrapped in a soft tortilla shell. Then I made chocolate oreo truffles (YUM) which are made of only cream cheese and oreos, and they’re covered in chocolate. And somehow all of that took me five hours. I will not eat cream cheese for a while.

I know I said that I didn’t like the sims 3 very much, but I still play it on a daily basis. (After I water my flowers in ACWW of course…heh.) I ran out of ideas for making a family and they always seem to end up the same way whenever I play. So today I made the Griffin Family. Yes, from Family Guy. The traits were hilarious! Peter was childish and inappropriate, Lois was family oriented and good, Meg was a loser and over emotional, Chris was absent minded and a loser, and Stewy was a genius and evil. But oh no, I did not stop there! Being a perfectionist, I made their house the same as in the TV show, complete with purple couch and yellow curtains. It looks tacky and awesome. I haven’t had time to play yet though because it took forever just to do that. If you want to see the family, just go to my twitter. www.twitter.com/lnpage.

Sexy:
Deviantart.com. Occasionally I’ll browse the website and look at other peoples’ artwork and get really jealous and inspired all at the same time. Flickr is also sexy. Not the website because it’s kindof lame, but the content. (btw owlssayhoot, if you’re reading this, I really like your photography!)

Unsexy:
Cologne. This probably goes with the Hollister thing perfectly described by Kristen in the comments. I guess it could be okay in TINY TINY TINY amounts so that the two people would have to be really close to smell it, and hey, that might even be sexy. But if you walk into a room and the smell of your body stays in that room for a good hour, then that is just too much mister. Because of cologne, I can no longer sit on my couch without gagging. The smell is permanently soaked into the fabric.

Thanks for reading this even though Hayley’s absent! It’s really cool!
Sebstian, see ya tomorrow.

  1. Hmm, I can definitely understand your antipathy for cream cheese after making all those appetizers. However, cheese cake is one of my most favorite foods ever ever ever, so I don't think I could ever not like cream cheese. OH, and cologne is THE single, grossest thing. On that note, all Abercrombie chains (A&F, Hollister, Gilly Hicks, etc) are ridiculously unsexy because I feel like my nose is going to explode from the stench every time I'm forced to enter one.

  2. Wow. Your Griffin family for sims 3... pure gold. I've been getting so bored with the game too, but I'm totally stealing your idea. I can't wait to see what Stewie grows up to be. Muhahahaha.

    Thank you! :)

  3. My sister puts on so much perfume when she walks in a room the WHOLE ROOM reeks of her nasty perfume.

  4. Haha, it's kind of become like a little collab channel but with a blog while Hayley's gone. I know what you mean about the cream cheese, to me it's just something that is never good in large quantities.

  5. Ew...cream cheese. Haha.

That picture of the griffin family is quite amazing. I'm following you on twitter now, do you think you could post pictures of the house? xD

  6. Hey, Lauren! I'm going to go ahead and take personal offense to the cologne thing. It's all about wearing the right cologne and the right amount. It's like an extra layer of invisible clothes! You should go rent and watch Perfume: The Story Of A Murderer right now, if you haven't (Alan Rickman!). Hell, I'll watch it with you.

  8. I definitely know what you mean about deviantart. I love just browsing through the photography, even though it makes me jealous. And cologne, that's just gross, though just a tiny bit so that the smell good up close is okay...

  9. Lauren, could you *be* more wrong about cologne?!
I think not, my good lady!
It's clear that you've been traumatized by the males in your family, because cologne, in the right scent/amount, is practically a GODSEND.
I honestly cannot think of a more alluring scent than the mix of a man's sweat with his cologne.

Those appetizers sound awfully stereotypically girly. I mean, really, what is it with women who throw jewelery/make-up parties (I know this from first-hand experience) and "cute" food? Sandwiches with the crusts cut off and the like. It all just seems ridiculous to me. No offense to your mom, she's following social protocol, but...grah. I can't really phrase this in a way that's not gonna sound insulting. Nevermind, nevermind.

  11. Your Griffin Sims family is so awesome! And you're right about cologne. A little bit is sexy but too much is gross. I used to have a teacher when I was around 9. Everytime she walked by, you would smell her cologne in such big amounts you almost fainted. I think she thought she had to use half a bottle or something.

Soo, Sebastian is coming tomorrow? So cool that you and Sebastian write blogs while Haley's away!

  12. I agree with you, Deviantart.com is sexy. Art as a whole is pretty sexy I think, except for some stuff were its kinda like 'umm whats going here?' haha.
Also the cologne thing, i agree, unless its a cologne that smells really good. Even better if the guy wearing it is good lookin passes by you and it makes you go 'well hello there!' lolz
I like the fact that you guys are blogging for hayley shows she has some pretty awesome friends.

Deviantart is probably sexy but mostly for me it's a source of jealously. I want to be artistic too!

  16. I had a geek moment when I noticed I was mention in the blog. It went something like this "She agreed with me! I'm in the blog!" and then I did my happy dance : ) Thanks. When it comes to cream cheese I only like it when it's used in cheese cake. I really want some cheese cake. Oh, and the family guy sims make me want to go buy that game! Just one more reason to spend more time on the computer.

  20. SIMS 3 looks like a lot of fun but I have the same problem with Sims games. All my families turn out the same for some reason. Well anyways, good luck with your Griffin family.
