Videos! Jack Johnson! Heartbreak! (Not really.)

I can't get this song out of my head! Now you have to go through it, too.

While I cracked up at your comment on yesterday's blog, Catherine, I'd like to point out that--HA!-- I legitimately did post a fiveawesomegirls video today. I feel like I've been walking around for the past three weeks wearing one heel and one flip-flop, and getting back into the swing of things with 5AG is finally leveling my life. Now I just need to get back to a fairly regular once-a-week-or-so schedule on hayleyghoover. I recorded about 30% of a video today that's different from my regular style, but I'm really excited about it. Tomorrow will be a day of filming and editing to the max. I think you can expect it tomorrow night at the earliest, Sunday at the latest. But then again, as Catherine'll remind you, my word regarding stuff like this is total untrustworthy bullshit. :)

I'm almost disappointed that my whole waaah I'm so sick I need to go to the doctor waaah charade ended up being one short-lived wolf-cry. I was sort of looking forward to the adventure of being sick. Like, watching Full House reruns, drinking tomato soup, and feeling bad for myself. But alas... I woke up this morning to a mostly clear throat and tons of energy pulsing through my body. So sorry, Uncle Jesse, but I ditched the pity party and went running instead.

In youtubely news, Toddly00 is attempting to post a video every day until he loses thirty pounds. That's kind of, um, ridiculously ambitious, if you ask me. That stuff usually takes forever and a video a day is a LOT! Either way, I'm going to follow him in this endeavor, however crazy, and try to lose ten pounds myself before college. On an unrelated youtubely note, Strawburry17 posted a really inspirational video the other day. It'll be of particular interest to Christians, but it's indisputably pretty, too.

OH OH OH! Andrew dumped me over a voicemail last night. "Hi, Hayley. It's weird to do this over a voicemail, but I've been thinking. Last time we spent time together, it was apparent that neither of us wanted to be spending time together. So it's probably best that we aren't... together... anymore." It was nothing short of hilarious, and I'm completely feelingless about the whole situation. My thought process was pretty much, Oh, cool. Oh, I should tell my blog readers tomorrow! Haha. Whatever; time for bed. So, you know, pretty heartbroken over here....

  1. Poor heartbroken Hayley. I love Strawburry17 and that video was nothing short of awesome. Sorry about you not staying sick for long (am I really sorry about that? no idea) Anyway, thanks for keeping us all involved with your love life!!

  2. The title of this blog looks like something that Michael Buckely would put.
    Wait. . .
Is he at your house right now? Is he your rebound guy?!
    Hands off! He's MINE!

  3. Hahahaha, I seriously laughed so loud when I read the transcript of the voicemail that my sister came in and asked what I was laughing about. Anyways, I suppose it's good you guys realized there wasn't a love connection, he sounded kind of obnoxious anyways. Also, I've been watching Todd's videos too, it's been strangely addicting...

  6. I'm both shocked and devastated about your break up with Andrew, how ever will you survive? Haha - So kidding. Glad you've got an amusing voice mail in your voice mail box.

On a serious note - so glad you're feeling better! :):)

  7. Happy you're feeling better, and you could probably implement the transcript into your future novels. ;)

  11. I dunno, I'm hoping you aren't that sad about Andrew, he seems like the Len to your Jessica Darling. That granted, is an outsiders point of view.

So on to bigger and better things!

  12. I say you save that voicemail and replay it when you're upset. :)

    HaleygHoover video?!

  13. The thought process following your dumpage reflects more on what you think of us. :) We are the most important people in your life. Clearly.

  14. Hayleylujah!!! Theres no more boyfriendthing and realization has set in on both sides. o wait, i am so deeply sorry. Things will get better just give it time.
Loved the new video and glad to hear you are feeling better.

  15. Haha, yes the heatbreak practically leaps off the page!
Don't be afraid to cry... :) Or be completely indifferent towards him, whatever is easiest.

  16. So, you're relieved to be broken up, but disappointed that you're not sick. That's so twisted.

  17. Watching your 5AG video made me miss just... hanging out with you. I hate that we never get that. Like seriously. Let's do lunch.

  18. Speaking of earworms: I had the Little Mermaid's "Part of Your World" stuck in my head in endless rotation during my entire shift at work....it probably didn't help that I had been up since 3 pm the day before. I happen to think that your relationship-thing happened the way it did all simpatico like (yeah, sure that sentence makes since)was pure awesome and all should end that way, but then again where the all the sad songs go? See you tomorrow, hopefully.

  19. I honestly enjoyed all the videos you recommended in your blog post. Thank-you:)

  20. wow... he must have been wearing those obnoxious sunglasses when he sent that voice mail... what a tool... I hope to see that Chipotle count go up little miss..

  21. I'm adding "pity party" to my lexicon. My last addition was "awkward bomb" eg. "Way to drop the awkward bomb penis-face."

I got dumped from a three year relationship over the phone. It wasn't that bad, in fact it was overdue. More of a relief than anything. :D

  22. 1. This may seem dark and twisty, but the toils of your love life are oddly fulfilling to read. I'd say that's masochistic, but Twilight totally ruined that word.

    2. The Box video totally made me realise that I could be living my life with a lot more purpose. As an 18 year old Christian, it was really refreshing. /postslinktofacebook.

    3. Thank you so much for making a video this week. Believe it or not, 5AG was pretty much the crutch/healthy distraction that got me through my first semester of university. Not having daily videos is still kind of weird.

    4. I'd totally be runner up in the HGH fangirl competition.

Hopefully, we'll see you tomorrow! <3

  23. I read a bit too fast at first and thought you had ACTUALLY been walking around with one flip flop and a heel, alas I reread it and it makes much more sense as a metaphor.
    :)

  24. Oh man, Andrew would make a wonderful fictional character. Someone you actual interact with on a regular basis -- or date, heh -- not so much.

Uh, is it bad that as a perfectly healthy (er, disregarding things like dietary habits) young person, I spend my days pretty much like a sick person? Maybe I should start watching Full House. (I still can't believe "You Oughta Know" is about Dave Coulier.)

  25. The voicemail actually made me laugh outloud... what a class act!
I am ever so sorry that your sickness did not turn out to be as fruitfull as you wished. I hate when that happens.. perhaps hypercondriah runs in the name?

I enjoy reading up on your blog.. funnily enough.. i have missed out on about the last four "episodes" ( for some reason i see your blogs as a tv show?) but i felt this terrible feeling of guilt... like i was letting you down for not keeping up with your blogs, even though i am sure that you have notnoticed my absence of dimwitted attempts to be witty..
but in short.. i pretty much think you are the most fantastic girl to ever live!
:) regards hayley a brogan ( i feel the need to put my initial and last name too??.. i need help! )

  26. Somebody dumped me whilst i was offline on AIM. And i saw it. I laughed.
I'm glad there's someone else in the world that doesn't care about crappy breaking up methods :)
    DFTBA Hayley :)

  27. At least you didn't have to bring yourself to leave the awkward, yet amusing voicemail

  28. "This may seem dark and twisty, but the toils of your love life are oddly fulfilling to read. I'd say that's masochistic, but Twilight totally ruined that word."

I think Scott wins, like, everything. My life is now fuller because of him.

Commiserations on the end of boyfriendthing. I know you're not torn up about it or anything, but still. I guess it's good he realised it too, so there wasn't any (too much?) awkwardness.

  29. There you go with those metaphors again...
    You're the best

  30. Andrew is nearly as good at leacing voicemails as me.
Last time I left one, I ended up going back five minutes later and saying 'Sorry, again, but that last voice mail was from me. I forgot. I forgot to say I mean...I'm Becka.'
Or something along those lines. I hate them.

I'm glad you're not upset about the break up, and all :)
Honestly, you never really seemed that into him.

I'm gonna go watch those videos now :) X

  31. I think Andrew deserves some credit for working up the courage to break up with you seeing as he seems to be right in saying that neither of you wanted the relationship. I'm surprised you didn't speak up, Hayley, you could have saved him the trouble. Though, doing it over voicemail is pretty sad...at least try to do it face to face people.

  32. andrew's a dick.. it's probably cause of sarah

  33. Wow. I'm glad that awkward ship has sailed. :)

ps: I really like that metaphor. The Box video was reallyyyy enjoyable. :)

  34. I'm sure he would've been willing to talk about it over the phone or in person.Maybe you weren't answering his calls?Maybe he sensed that detachmeant and realized you both felt the same or he finally read your blog.Either way good to hear it doesn't bother you!
I am quite disappointed to hear about the sickness though hmph

  35. Picture it. 33 year old woman, bored at work, reading (some skimming) your entire blog to make it through until 5pm. I watch your blogs, love 5AG. You are beautiful, talented and funny and write well...and I pretty much hate 90% of these teenagers that have all decided just because they can turn on a computer, that they can write well. You are neither fat, nor ugly and I thank you for giving giving me hope that your generation will be far more driven, intelligent and compassionate than us GenX slackers. Except John Green. Amen.

  36. Hayley, your blog never fails to amuse me. Good luck with your goal to lose 10 pounds before college! And I loved the 5AG video you posted yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Okay, I guess because you actually did follow through I can cut you some slack when you try to start posting videos up on hayleyghoover. I have faith that you can do it, but... nevermind, I'm sure you can do it... really I trust in you. =)

  38. I'm glad that the boyfriend thing situation has resolved itself without hurt feelings, but anyone who breaks up via a voicemail is a hopeless cause anyway. No class. I enjoyed the 5AG video and look forward to the new Hoover video no matter what form it takes. cheers

  39. No offenece, but I think Becka's voicemail breakup as described in the comments is way better than Andrew's. If you haven't already read it, go do it now.

  40. Regarless of weather or not it upset you, it was seriously cowardly of him to dump you over the phone. Concidering you're his friend he shoud have done better than that. And you deserved better than that. Glad you arn't heart broken though :).

  41. Man, in december 2006 I have a diary entry saying I should join youtube and vlog every so often. But I didn't. I had that idea that Todd had about two months ago... but I wasn't trying to lose weight, just tone up. That's it. The next idea I have, I'm actually going to do it! I guess.

  42. Hey, if you like Jack Johnson I thought you might like this guy:
